Runaway suitcase knocks down woman on escalator in eastern China
A runaway suitcase rolled down an escalator and knocked down a woman at Nanjing Metro Line 4 on February 22.
The CCTV video shows a suitcase suddenly tumbling down an escalator after the owner, Ms Mo, fails to hold onto it, striking another woman named Ms Li on her back.
According to reports, Ms Mo failed to hold her luggage because of the slippery gloves she was wearing at the time.
Since the escalator is around 10-metre long and the suitcase was around 5kg, Ms Li had fractures and scratches to her back and was bed-bound for a month.
Police were negotiating the compensation between two women.
