A heroic winter swimmer saved a 75-year-old Chinese woman trapped in a frozen sea off northern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Huludao in Liaoning Province on February 19, shows a shirtless winter swimmer named Zhang Qiyi using a shovel to help him move along the surface to approach a trapped elderly woman.

Zhang then even carried the woman on his back to bring her back to the shore.

According to reports, Zhang heard the elderly woman shouting for help after he finished swimming.

He then took off his clothes and returned back to the sea to rescue the woman.

Zhang had scratches on his legs, but the woman was saved.

近日，在辽宁省葫芦岛市望海寺海边，一老人遛弯时不慎掉进冰窟窿，幸好遇到热心的冬泳爱好者，成功获救。
2月19日上午十点左右，葫芦岛市望海寺永青冬泳俱乐部的冬泳爱好者张起义刚刚结束冬泳训练，忽然听到 呼救声，一位老人掉进了冰窟窿里。情况紧急，张起义立即返回海里救人。

由于张起义是在冬泳后再次下海，体能消耗给他带来了巨大的挑战，即便这样，他还是咬牙坚持，最终将老 人成功救出。

救人时张起义双腿都受了擦伤。市民纷纷为他的行为点赞。
