This is the moment a train station worker squashes a passenger inside an overloaded carriage in the Philippines.

The platform member of staff stepped in after commuters struggled to fit in the train during rush hour at Bicutan Station, Paranaque city, Manila, on April 27.

He then used his weight to force all of them inside as they refused to wait for another carriage.

Onlooker Fiel Wagas said: 'It's so busy at the moment that it's difficult commuting around here and the train is one of the easiest modes of transportation. That is if you could fit inside the train.'

The Philippines has one of the poorest railway systems in Southeast Asia. In 2019, even before the pandemic, the Philippine National Railways cancelled 18 per cent of its scheduled trips for available routes.
