Kind-hearted residents rescued a boy hanging from a first-floor window of a building in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Dongguan in Guangdong Province on October 17 shows a boy dangling from a first-floor window as his head got trapped in the security bars.

Nearby residents stood on a truck and held a quilt underneath in case the boy fell down.

A man climbed onto a ladder placed on the truck and attempted to push the boy back into the flat with a stick.

Several people ran upstairs to break into the flat and lifted the boy up to bring him back into the building.

According to reports, the boy's mother went to buy groceries and left the boy at home alone.

The boy was taken to hospital for a check-up by his parents. Fortunately, he was not injured seriously.
