A brave man rescued a 2-year-old boy hanging from a third-floor window in southern China.

Video filmed in Panzhihua City in Sichuan Province on April 28 shows a boy getting his head stuck in the security bars and dangling from the window on the third floor.

A 54-year-old man named Yang Shiyou swiftly climbed up the building, manoeuvred through the hallway window, and skillfully ascended the exterior wall guardrail in a few steps to reach the child's side.

Yang then held onto the guardrail with one hand and cradled the boy with the other, carefully adjusting his position to manoeuvre the child back through the gaps.

According to the boy's mother Ms Deng, she took her eldest daughter to school, assuming her young son would still be asleep. Consequently, she had locked him inside the house.

Yang was reportedly riding a motorcycle to work when he spotted the incident. With his experience in working at heights, he quickly rushed past the road, leaving his motorcycle behind.

Following the successful rescue, Yang left for work.
