Magical icicles formed in an apartment block's corridor in China during freezing conditions after an outside door was left open.

The remarkable scene was filmed in the city of Jiamusi in Heilongjiang Province on January 24.

Icicles formed and hung from the roof of a corridor when the door was left open and the temperature reportedly reached around -40 degrees Celsius. According to reports, when the cold air was blown into the building and met the hot air from the indoor heating system, it froze and formed the ice formations.

The icicles have been removed already for safety reasons.

1月24日，黑龙江佳木斯，一小区楼道内结满冰柱，行走其中犹如进入钟乳石溶洞。据当事人欧阳先生介绍，当时气温零下40度左右，因楼道内有暖气，楼道的门被风吹开后，冷热空气交叉循环，凝结成冰霜形成这样一个景观。其中倒挂最长的“冰柱”有1米多长。因为怕有危险，当天中午这些“冰柱”就被处理掉了。视频由欧阳先生提供。
