Ice chunks falling off a 7-storey building's roof narrowly missed pedestrians in northern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Baishan in Jilin Province on February 28.

Pedestrians moved away quickly as a large amount of ice suddenly fell off the building's roof.

According to reports, the ice blocks melt and fell down during the early spring each year. To prevent pedestrians from being hit by the ice, the local authorities have specifically expanded the roadside shops by building an extra small building next to the main building.

2月28日，吉林白山，一路边店铺上空突然掉落冰块，差点砸到路人，店铺扩建的耳房（建筑中主房屋旁边加盖的小房屋）受损严重。3月1日，店铺工作人员称，这些冰块是从楼顶掉落，楼高7层，是斜顶尖顶房，每年初春化冰的时候会往下掉冰块，当地把这条路的路边店铺特意扩建出耳房，以防砸到路人。
