The process of recovering the bodies of the Natuna landslide victims. 10 people were declared missing
The process of searching for landslide victims in Natuna district today, March 11, 2023. The landslide has left 18 people missing, 36 died and as many as 1,216 people have been displaced.
High rainfall, unstable soil conditions and hilly areas with steep slopes are a number of factors triggering the occurrence of landslides on Serasan Island.
As an effort to reduce the impact of the risk of landslides, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) supports the efforts of the Natuna District Government (Pemkab) to relocate approximately 100 families (KK) who live around the landslide-affected area on Serasan Island, Natuna Regency, Riau Archipelago (Kepri).
