A new-energy bus in China has caught fire only two months after it was put into service.

The footage, captured by a bystander in Hubei Province on Saturday, shows a huge fire coming out of the bus and lighting up the trees at the roadside with a plume of smoke rising up into the air.

Firefighters can be seen pouring water, trying to extinguish the flames.

The power supply of some nearby residential areas reportedly suffered temporary blackouts due to the accident.

According to local media, the bus was about to pull out from the gate of a high school after the driver picked up twenty students, when one of them noticed the smell and smoke from the back part and alerted the whole bus, saving everyone without any injuries.
