Skier triggers avalanche while cruising down snowy mountain in Alaska
An extreme skier triggered an avalanche while cruising down a snow-covered mountain in Alaska.
Drone footage shows the sports daredevile looking like a small dot as he glided down the steep Berlin Wall area in Thompson Pass, Valdez, on April 10.
But halfway down the frozen terrain, a large blanket of snow shook and fell down with the man.
The skier reached the foot of the mountain within seconds, partially buried under the snow.
The skier Danny Kern said: ‘We encountered some wind slab and triggered an avalanche on the northwest face of the Berlin Wall.
‘I'm so humbled by the mountains everywhere I go.'
The Berlin Wall is an area in the Chugach Mountains in Alaska which is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding as it is a long, steep ridge that runs from north to south.
