A skier was rescued after being buried by a cascading snow in northwest China.

Terrifying video filmed in Altay Prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on January 10, shows a skier plummeting with cascading snow, disappearing from the view.

Nearby skiers quickly rushed to the rescue upon noticing the incident.

In response, the General Mountain International Ski Resort stated that the avalanche was triggered by a skier venturing off the designated trail into the backcountry.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported on-site.

The resort emphasized its strict prohibition of skiing outside designated areas and urged all skiers to prioritise safety on the slopes.
