A dramatic video has emerged from China of eight cars being smashed by rubble after a wall collapsed from the top of a 19-storey building.

In the footage, partially captured on the security cameras of an office building in Guangdong Province on Wednesday, piles of broken bricks can be seen suddenly falling onto the parked cars, flattening three into heaps of scrap metal.

According to news reports, the collapse was thought to have been caused by a blocked pipe that exploded in a tank on the roof of the building.

Eight cars were damaged in the incident with three of them completely destroyed.
