A total of 21 people were rescued after a staircase collapsed inside a house in eastern India's Jharkhand.

This incident took place in the Bokaro Steel Plant colony on September 10.

Visuals shot on September 11 showed the part of the dilapidated house where the staircase collapsed. Officials had gathered at the spot and they were seen conducting a rescue operation. With the help of a steel ladder, they were seen rescuing the inhabitants of the house one by one. According to a report, the fire brigade as well as the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials rushed to the spot where this occurred and they rescued these 21 people. Chaitali Acharya, a resident of the building shared that it was not in the best condition and that the damage had been done due to water leaking from the tank.

After this incident, senior officials arrived at the spot and met the ones affected in this accident. The people who were affected were also allotted a separate residence in a short span of time with them also receiving assistance in shifting their belongings to the new place.
