Families fled as floods submerged villages in sometimes neck-deep water in the Philippines on Monday 20 November.

Footage shows residents carrying their belongings as they wade through the deluge in Uson Town, Masbate province.

The local disaster management office said seven districts were flooded, and evacuations were ongoing to rescue trapped villagers in affected areas.

Philippine weather agency PAGASA said the trough of a low-pressure area, and a shear line - the point at which cool monsoon winds converge with warm winds from the Pacific Ocean - were bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the country.
