STORYLINE:

Chinese Xiaonian Festival, also known as the Kitchen God Festival, falls on Feb 2 this year.

Ten international students from Sri Lanka, Canada, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh and other countries celebrated the traditional Chinese festival in Cangzhou, north China's Hebei Province on Friday.
   
Usually a week before the Lunar New Year, the festival is considered to be the prologue of the Spring Festival

The Chinese usually start to make preparations for the Spring Festival on this day.

The students joined their teachers in making dumplings, steaming rice cakes and pasting paper-cuttings on windows to feel the Chinese New Year spirit in a festive atmosphere.
