On April 3rd, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Hualien County, Taiwan, capturing the moment when a five-story building tilted precariously and residents fled in panic on surveillance footage. Upon closer inspection at the scene, it was discovered that the first-floor beams and columns of the five-story building had fractured, causing the entire structure to tilt with the ground floor sinking below. At the time of the earthquake, numerous diners were having breakfast in a ground-floor restaurant, prompting many to rush out and flee across the street. Currently, all residents of the building have been evacuated, with thankfully no reported casualties.
