On April 13th, in Liaocheng, northern China, a young girl accidentally fell into the water from a bridge, and her condition became critical. Upon hearing the cries for help from the crowd, an elderly man swiftly jumped into the water without hesitation to rescue her. Shortly after, a passing auxiliary police officer also jumped in to assist in the rescue. With the combined efforts of everyone present, the girl was successfully brought ashore.

The elderly man who jumped into the water to save the girl is named Wu Qing, a 65-year-old retired worker who enjoys cycling and swimming in his spare time. Upon reaching the girl, Wu Qing found her submerged and unconscious, in a state of coma.

During the rescue, someone from the bridge threw a cardboard box into the water, attempting to help the drowning girl grab hold of it. Wu Qing then lifted the girl's neck and dragged her towards the shore.

After Wu Qing and Yang Zhongying brought the girl to the shore, Yang Zhongying lifted the girl and handed her over to the waiting people on the shore. They threw down a rope, and Wu Qing and Yang Zhongying used it to pull themselves back to shore.

"The water was over 2 meters deep at the time, and the entire rescue process took about four minutes. After I got ashore, I saw several ladies patting the girl's back. After the girl spit out some water, she gradually recovered. When I saw that the girl could sit up, I left," Wu Qing said.

Wu Qing stated that it was a small matter, and he didn't think about anything when rescuing the girl. He believes that anyone would lend a helping hand to assist in such a situation.
