Bluebird replica takes to the water
The iconic Bluebird K7 flipped on Coniston Water on January 4, 1967, while Donald Campbell was attempting to raise the speed record to more than 300mph. During this year’s Coniston Records Week a look and sound-alike powerboat called K777 took to the water. Helical Technology’s boat, which resembles Bluebird K7 is equipped with a single Orpheus jet engine and it is their ambition to bring the World Water Speed Record back to Britain.
