Tears welled in the eyes of a US soldier after a surprise visit from his family to celebrate his 30th birthday at his Oklahoma home.

The military man, named Matt, had not seen his family for over a year when his wife made the call to bring them over while Matt's brother put together a video of pictures and messages to watch.

The wife coordinated the surprise by telling her husband she wanted to record his reaction to the video and gift to be sent to his family, when it took place in January 2017.

My husband is in the military which makes it hard to see family often. For his birthday, I wanted to put together a surprise to make it extra special. I reached out to his side of the family and asked if they could come to visit and they said yes! He hadn't seen his family in over a year so I knew this would make his birthday the greatest ever! His brother put together a video of old pictures and personal messages from the family for him to watch when he got home from work. I told him he had to watch the video and then he would get a gift from them and I wanted to record his reaction so I could send it to them. This is his reaction!
