Seagull Rescue ~ Letting him go

Buy video

We rescued a seagull on Rainy River that was all tangled with old fishing line around his wing and foot...he could not fly or hardly swim and was struggling in the water...luckily he was not far from shore and the kids got in the paddle boat and kayak and went to help him, just as a big eagle was circling the seagull knowing it was hurt...the kids took a fishing net, leather gloves and a beach towel and got to him before the eagle could get him! They carefully lifted the tangled seagull into the paddle boat & covered him with the towel to calm him, ....once the seagull was on shore we all worked together to hold the seagull still while we worked to untangle his wing and leg and cut the long strands of nasty tangled fishing line off that were wrapped around the poor seagull...it was wrapped so tightly around his wing and leg, he would of never gotten it off on his own and it surely would of been a sad ending for him...the seagull was very good while we worked on him, he knew we were trying to help him...once we had all the fishing line off his wing and foot , we could see no injuries so we released him and he flew away fine...the kids did a great job!!... I am now calling them the Seagull Whisper'ers :) ... Love a Happy Ending
