Charcoal Barbecue Life Hack N485
A great life hack of how to quickly use your bottled gas barbecue to actually charcoal cook your meat.
Using charcoal to cook food is becoming increasingly popular.
As the meat drips the fat onto the hot charcoal, the smoke and aromas which envelope the meat impart lots of delicious flavours.
Charcoal cooking is a healthier and more flavourful option as the meat is not sitting in its fats and oils.
The problem with using charcoal, is it takes so long to get ignited and burning.
This Australian dad uses his gas bottle barbecue to get the charcoal burning quickly.
He first removes the cooking grate, then lays some wire mesh down on the hot rocks. The charcoal is spread evenly on the mesh, and the cooking grate replaced.
The gas burners are then used to ignite the charcoal which only takes a few minutes. Once the charcoal is ignited, the gas is turned off, and the cooking with charcoal can begin. The aroma from steak and pork is heavenly!
