Dramatic video of Asia's tallest wooden pagoda burning down in a major blaze.

The footage, filmed in Deyang City in southwestern Sichuan Province on December 10, shows the main temple hall being consumed in the blaze.

Heavy smoke and flames are seen coming from the 16-story pagoda.

The fire came from the Buddhist main temple hall and spread to the pagoda.

The pagoda was destroyed in the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and the new structure was nearing the end of the eight-year construction period.

The original was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).

The fire was put out and no one was injured.

The cause is being investigated.
