Locals pray to a Buddhist pagoda with dozens of pythons hanging in Myanmar.

Footage shows the religious site adorned by golden Buddha statues with serpents slithering around in Yangon earlier this year.

The Baung Daw Gyoke Pagoda was dubbed the "snake temple" after being home to more than 30 snakes.

A monk said that the snakes went inside the building to take shelter while the others were collected and rescued from residents' homes.

The monk said: "We take care of them willingly. They felt safe here and stayed'.

Many superstitious locals believed the snakes were a sign of luck so they come and pray at the pagoda. Others dared touch the snakes, but the monks said an expert snake handler is always present.
