Coatis, Nasua nasua, (or Quatis in Brazil) are members of the raccoon family, and are native to South and Central America, and south-western North America. They forage in large groups, snuffling for food amongst the leaf litter with their long, pig-like snouts. They are omnivorous, eating a wide range of invertebrates, lizards, rodents, birds' eggs and fruit, and they are not above scavenging, as this clip shows.
