Wow! Two Warthog boars in a deadly fight with razor-sharp tusks

The Common Warthog (Phacochoerus africanus) is a member of the pig family – its name refers to the ‘warts’ on its face. Warthogs have two pairs of tusks that protrude from the mouth and curve upwards, as well as a mane of coarse hair running down the spine. Warthogs are the only pig adapted to savanna and are omnivorous, taking a wide range of foods including fresh grass, roots, fruits, insects and even carrion. These Warthog boars were engaged in a serious fight near Olifants Restcamp in Kruger National Park. They were evenly matched, pushing head-to-head until one tried to gouge his opponent with a lightning-fast sideways slash of his razor-sharp tusks. The conflict ran for about 10 minutes.
