The Warthog (Phacochoerus africanus) is a wild pig found in savanna habitats in Sub-Saharan Africa. The males have formidable tusks that are used for digging, defence against predators and for fighting with other Warthogs.

Warthogs are omnivorous, eating a wide range of grasses, roots, fruits, fungi, carrion and insects. They have very short necks and have to drop onto their knees to graze or feed on other foods close to the ground.
