Pensioners have been left "prisoners in their own homes" after mobility scooters were BANNED from corridors at their luxury retirement village - for health and safety reasons.

A group of over 70 OAPs have left fuming after housing bosses told them they could only keep their machines inside their apartments in case they catch FIRE. Residents at the New Oscott Retirement Village say they now feel like they are under "house arrest" at the posh complex in Sutton Coldfield, West Mids.
