The year's third and final supermoon has risen tonight (Wednesday) close to the moment of the March equinox.

A supermoon has not arrived this close an equinox since the year 2000 and won't do so again until the year 2030.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the equinox brings about the arrival of spring while in the Southern Hemisphere is ushers in autumn.

I took the opportunity to film the beautiful supermoon rising over a wilderness area in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. The March equinox brings about the arrival of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. During the equinox, day and night are of equal length, with the sun rising precisely in the east and setting precisely in the west. At the same time a full moon has not landed this close to an equinox since the year 2000, and the two celestial events won’t happen less than a day apart again until 2030. This full was also the third and final supermoon for 2019. It was a such a great experience watching this stunning cosmic coincidence out in the African bush.
