Spectacular sight as massive buffalo herd roams Botswana's savanna plains

While on a self-drive safari in the Okavango Delta in Botswana, we saw a number of safari vehicles, standing in the far distance, with a huge dust cloud in front of them. We knew there was something worthwhile and decided to go and investigate. It was during the end of winter, and as far as you could see, the huge open savanna plains barely had any grass left on it. You could see for miles around you into the flat open spaces. As we approached the other vehicles and the dust cloud, I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was one of the largest buffalo herds I have ever seen in my life. The herd was estimated at over a thousand individuals. To see any animal species in such a number in today’s time in Africa is an incredibly fortunate sight to behold. I tried my best to capture the size of the herd with panning from left to right with my camera. The buffalo herd continued even further to my left and right, but the view was blocked by other vehicles. It was impossible to film the whole herd as it was just so large and on the move. I managed to get the whole hundred and eighty degrees in front of me while panning along. What an incredible sight, something that is not often recorded on any safari anywhere in Africa.
