Women take part in bizarre fish bare-handed catching competitoon
This is the hilarious moment women fumble to catch fish in the muddy paddling pool in a bizarre village sports day competition.
Locals from seven different villages entered the bare-handed fish catching competition this year in Satun, southern Thailand.
Footage from Monday (01/04) shows how six competitors jumped into the mud right after the subdistrict chief blew his whistle to start the frenzy.
The women had to show off their unique techniques to catch the fifteen snakehead fish which have sharp teeth and are slippery.
The crowd were amused by how women bumped each other slipped in the mud while they focused on grabbing the fish - with a 500 baht for each one they caught.
Gudanan Lhangchi, the chief of the Bankhuan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, said that the fish catching competition always received much attention from villagers.
The chief, who became strapped after awarded the winners, said: “The sports day occurs annually and the fish catching is always the most popular game that brings joy to everyone.
“We also had different activities like football, volleyball, and petanque for everyone to participate in the event and have a good time.”
