A snake wrangler caught a huge python hiding along the wall of a shop.

Rescuers were called when the 13ft (4m) serpent was discovered making strange vibrations behind a wooden panel at a marble store in Nonthaburi, Thailand.

Footage shows part of the reptile's body exposed through a hole in the panel on November 11.

Volunteer Bubpha Amphuang, 54, said: 'We received a request to capture a snake at Rattanathibet Marble Shop.'

Bubpha followed the snake as it slithered along the edge of the room before coiling under a shelf.

Some boxes had to be cleared to make space before the team finally secured the animal's neck with a noose.

The female snake catcher dragged the python out of the shop, measured its length, and placed it in a sack.

Shop owner Kitiporn Lertarnontrakul, 33, said: 'I was eating lunch when we felt the wall shaking so pulled out some of the panels to check. The snake appeared stuck and then fell to the ground.

'We all ran away and called for help. We had seen some snakes here before, but none as big as this one.'

The python was later transported back to the wild and safely released.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
