Locals take part in amusing sports day with cucumbers hanging from their waists
Locals take part in an amusing game by hitting table-tennis ball s with cucumbers dangling from their waists.
The village sports day was part of an anti-drugs event in Ang Thong, central Thailand last Friday (March 6) morning.
In one of the events, competitors hung cucumbers or wooden pestle's from their waste, which they then had to swing to hit a ping pong ball. The first one whose ball crossed the finish line was the winner.
One of the competitors, Nong May, said the fun activities helped to improve relationships between the different families in the village.
She said: "I love that the event because it's enjoyable for the competitors and the audiences. The winning was not so important as everyone enjoyed it.''
