There was no fighting like cats and dogs for this pair - with the feline even giving her pooch friend a massage.

The two-year-old female cat named Tong-Ngern started giving her friend Leo, a four-year-old Pomeranian, a back massage while they both laid near the owner.

Leo appeared to be enjoying the back rub and reclined with his mouth wide open.

The two unlikely friends were filmed at a house in Prachinburi, central Thailand on Tuesday April 23.

Pet owner Khun Pramot said: ''What happened was the dog was relaxing in front of the fan. We were all relaxing as a family next to the fan, because it was hot outside.

''I don't know why the cat started massaging Leo. Cats do unusual things. She is always surprising us.

''We call the cat Tong-Ngern. She is like a sister to Leo. They are best friends.''
