This is the moment a three-star hotel building in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh state in India was demolished by controlled explosions on Wednesday.

The hotel was destroyed on the orders of the high court as it was built on illegal land.

Hotel Shanti Palace and Clarks-In, situated at the main Ujjain-Indore four-lane highway, was built on the land that was procured illegally and was originally meant for a residential colony, according to local media.

Hotel Shanti Palace and Clarks-In, reportedly built at a cost of Rs 20 crore, had 100 rooms and was situated at the main Ujjain-Indore four-lane highway. However, the land was procured illegally and was originally meant for a residential colony.

After nearly 10-year-long legal process, the high court's double bench recently issued the order to demolish both the buildings.
The Ujjain Municipal Corporation which conducted the demolish through controlled blast use drone to capture the footage.
