Doctors in India came up with a novel way of persuading a little girl to accept treatment for leg fractures.

Zikra, who is 11 months old, initially resisted treatment for her injuries, at Delhi's Lok Nayak hospital on 17 August.

According to Dr Ajay Gupta, the toddler was nervous and crying. So her mother Farheen had the idea to replicate the treatment on Zikra's doll Pari, whom the little girl thinks of as a friend.

Zikra then accepted the treatment and now both of them have their legs attached to a traction rod.

She is expected to make a full recovery in a week.

Zikra is a 11 month old baby girl who was brought by her parents to Delhi's Lok Nayak Hospital on August 17th with complaint of a thigh fracture . Zikra fell from bed while in sleep . According to Dr Ajay Gupta, orthopaedic at Hospital the toddler was nervous and crying, refused to get treated , She was not ready to take the treatment . So her mother farheen gave us idea to replicate similar treatment method on her baby doll (Pari) to whom she is attached like a friend , The idea really worked and she started responding and get calm to treatment . Now the 11-month-old has her legs attached to a traction rod - and so does her doll . According to her mother Farheen Pari (doll), is with my baby since her birth she loves her very much . "She was happy as soon as she saw the doll," she added. Doctors at the hospital first 'treated' Pari, and then Zikra. They plastered the doll's legs, after which Zikra agreed to receive treatment. the two now lie together, and their friendship has become the talk of the ward. Zikra is now famous in the hospital as the "gudiya waali bachi (the girl with the doll)", and is expected to make a full recovery in another week .
