A farmer’s son has successfully built a helicopter from scratch using bike engines and scrap material... but it doesn't fly.

Hailing from the small village of Mati in the Dausa region of Rajasthan, which has a population of less than 2000 people, didn’t stop Chetram Gurjarfrom dreaming big.

The video, filmed on Sunday (September 8) shows Chetram testing out his helicopter, as a crowd of onlookers record the event.

Building a helicopter while studying at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) was no easy task. However, three sets of wings later and with help from the government-backed farmer’s support fund, Chetram's helicopter was complete.

Chetram Gurjar hails from a small village called Mati in Dousa region of Rajasthan, which has a total population of fewer than 2000 people. He may be from a small village but that didn’t stop him from dreaming big. While studying in the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Gurjar spent his free time working on ‘Pawan Putra’. Given that he's a farmer's son, he didn’t have a lot of money to invest, but with the help of loose parts and mostly ‘jugaad’, he was able to make the helicopter a success. But building this helicopter wasn't as easy as it seems. The wings had to change three times before Lal Chetram got them to function. With the help of the government-backed farmer’s support fund, his father contributed monetarily.

At first, he installed a petrol engine from the Honda CBZ in the chopper. But after it didn’t work, he went ahead and installed another diesel engine from the bike. Even then, the vibrator caused him a ton of trouble. Further, he even used YouTube to learn various other things. But slowly, he figured everything out. Two Honda CBZ and three sets of wings later, success was his for the taking. According to him, if the government gives him due permissions, he can fly the helicopter up to 20-feet.
