A firework factory exploded leaving at least seven people dead in south China.

The video, filmed in the city of Liuyang in Hunan Province on December 4, shows a plume of smoke rising up into the sky.

A woman can be heard saying: " The firework factory exploded. It was shaking dramatically and the glass windows were broken."

According to local reports, the windows of nearby houses were damaged by the blast. At least seven people were killed and injured people were sent to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the explosion is unknown.
