Sweden's royals attend event promoting conservation of holy river in India

The king and queen of Sweden attend a program for the conservation of the holy river Ganga along with several state ministers in northern India.

The event took place on December 5 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

Visuals show the chief minister of the state, Trivendra Ravat, and other important officials welcoming the royal couple to the Namami Gange program.

Next, the chief minister is seen addressing the gathering and talking about the problems the holy river faces in the present times.

The minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, is then seen gifting a rudraksha sapling to King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and then explaining the importance of the same.

The program then displays an introductory video praising and depicting the importance of river Ganga, while the esteemed guests applaud.

Finally, the esteemed guests inaugurate a new 14MLD sewage treatment plant in Sarai village on the outskirts of the city.
