Policeman throws woman to the ground as protests against retirement reform paralyse France
Thousands took to the streets in the city of Nantes on Thursday (December 5) to protest Emmanuel Macron's pension reform plans.
The footage shows a policeman throwing a female protester to the ground and French police firing tear gas at protesters.
The filmer told Newsflare: "The police started to move yet some people were either too slow or didn't want to move, soon enough clashes started and the woman fell on the ground. When she got up, the policeman managed to throw her to the ground again.
"While some protesters were eating, the police started to fire tear gas on the whole place."
According to reports, by midday 180,000 people had joined the demonstrations across France, the biggest strike in years.
