Footage shows the extent of damage typhoon Kammuri has left in the northeastern part of the Philippines.

The video was taken in Northern Samar on December 4. The province is one of the hardest-hit areas by the typhoon.

Typhoon victims are now finally returning to their homes after taking refuge for days at evacuation centers. They are being met with scenes of destruction - with many having lost their homes. 

Kammuri, a rare December typhoon, is the strongest to have hit the country this year. The death toll from Typhoon Kammuri rose to at least 17 people, officials said.
