Footage shows strong waves caused by Typhoon Surigae crashing into the coast of Northern Samar province in the Philippines on Monday (April 19).

Typhoon Surigae reached maximum sustained winds of 190 mph (305 kph) at the weekend when it passed by the eastern part of the country. Forecasters said that Typhoon Surigae, known locally as Tuphoon Bising, had weakened on Monday (April 19) while it slowly moved away from the country.

At least three people have been killed and more than 100,000 due to Typhoon Surigae, which strongest typhoon ever recorded in April in the Philippines.
