An Indonesian man has discovered a creative way to recycle old tires that are brought to a rubbish dump - building a giant T Rex.

Nana Bintan manages his village’s garbage facility in the Kepanjen District of Malang Regency, East Java.

He recycles the old rubber tyres by turning them into colourful giant snakes, insects, animals and his latest creation this month - a massive Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Aside from the old tires, he also uses other recycled materials taken from the facility to use as materials for his creations.

Bintan's artworks are placed in public parks where children can play with and ride them. His giant insects are installed into trees making it look like a scene out of the movies.

"I hope I can inspire more people with what I do. It feels wonderful when people appreciate my work," he said.

Aside from the artworks, Bintan also earns a living by selling organic compost to encourage his neighbours to start their own garden.
