Barnsdale Road between Castleford & Allerton Bywater in West Yorkshire, became flooded today (Saturday 22nd February) after high winds and heavy rain swept the region throughout the night. Vehicles risked voiding their insurance by driving through the floodwaters as well as damaging their vehicles. One driver of a BMW, who's occupants included a 3 year old child & an 80 year old woman became stranded, but was quickly recovered by samaritans in nearby 4x4's. The high winds made the floodwater harder to navigate as waves crashed into vehicles obstucting their view. This is the 7th flood since March 17th 2019, and is the 3rd flood in 3 weeks since the recent Storm Ciara & Storm Dennis
