A 170metre-long speed reduction zone has been complained of causing too much noises to the nearby residents and is to be partially removed by government in Southern China.

The video showed the extremely long speed reduction zone ahead with yellow strips on road and residential compound aside, causing constant noises when cars pass by. It’s reported that cars could jolt for over 15s to pass the zone.

The authority has started to cut the length of the zone from March 31st and made sure there’re two or three speed reduction strips every 10metres.

According to the local government, the long speed reduction zone is for safety reason because there has been many cars passing by this road very fast.

The footage was captured by a car DVR in Shantou, Guangzhou province, in March 30.
