Golden Eagle attacked by Ravens

Buy video

A Golden Eagle is seen being attacked by a pair of Common Ravens.
Filmed in slow motion in the lower Derborence Valley in Switzerland.

filmed at 5:10PM local time on 16 april 2020.

I go out often there for birdwatching, especially for trying to see vultures.
I was there precisely on that road and location because the day before I had seen an even larger bird, a bearded vulture, flying in that zone, but from a bigger distance, and so I returned there hoping I might see the vulture again from up closer ( I did not, but the eagle - ravens flight was quite good, too. ) .
I think the ravens have a nest in a tree nearby . But out of experience I have often seen ravens attacking even larger birds , such as eagles and buzzards and even vultures ( bearded vultures and griffon vultures ) .
