Residents trapped in a burning building climbed seven storeys down on a water pipe to escape in southern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Nanning in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on September 3, shows the huge fire engulfing the roof of a building and the heavy smoke rising into the air.

In another clip, a person was seen climbing down the building from the sixth-floor on a water pipe.

18 fire engines and 70 firemen arrived on the site to extinguish the fire.

Four trapped people all escaped the burning building successfully by climbing down themselves. No casualties were reported.

The case is in further investigation and the video was provided by local media with permission.

9月3日5时30分许，广西南宁市星湖路南二里3号星湖综合楼顶层发生火灾。南宁市消防救援支队调派9个灭火编队、18辆车、70名消防员赶赴现场处置。火灾于7时20分得到控制，8时10分火势被扑灭。大火发生后，有4名被困人员自行从七楼楼顶爬水管逃生，没有造成人员伤亡，具体原因还在进一步调查中。（视频由广西台提供）
