AFTER WATCHING AN EXAMPLE ON TV - CONFUSED PUPPY USES STRING TO LOCATE THE LOUNGE

Just over a week ago my Staffy puppy and I were watching a TV documentary on Greek Mythology. My pup Rocky seemed to become more alert when the story of the Minotaur and Theseus was being told, especially when Theseus used a ball of twine to escape from the labyrinth. I have a small house, not a maze, yet my puppy appears to have difficulty navigating it and he seemed to consider that using some kind of cord was the solution to his issue. I say this because a few days ago in the lounge I found a clump of string in the middle of the room and a line from it, which trailed to the doorway. Rocky looked guilty and I assumed that he had done something wrong, and so I followed the string through the lounge and the hallway to the utility room where the ball of string was located.
My dog followed and so I asked him if he had used my string because he gets lost due to his poor sense of direction. Rocky simply glared at me, as if in disgust and walked back to the lounge, FOLLOWING THE STRING AS HE WENT.
