Crowds of students in Indonesia held a demonstration against the ratification of the Omnibus Law which has been passed by the government.

The protests were held in front of the DPRD Office of Makassar, South Sulawesi Province on October 6.

The students were reportedly picketing against the Omnibus Law due claims of it removing rights and protections for labourers in Indonesia and favouring international corporations.

Dozens of Makassar students held a demonstration against the ratification of the Omnibus Law which has been passed by the government of the Republic of Indonesia, on Jalan Urip Sumoharjo in front of the DPRD Office of South Sulawesi, Makassar, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

They made speeches and carried signs with their demands. The rejection of this law is because several points in it are suspected of not taking sides with manual laborers and other laborers in Indonesia.

This time, the action jammed traffic around the site because the demonstrating students took part of the road. (*)
