Thai soldiers patrol southern border with Myanmar amid COVID-19 spike

Thai soldiers are patrolling the borders with Myanmar after a spike in COVID-19 cases in the neighbouring country. Military patrol boats are seen in the footage from October 14 guarding the passageways in Ranong province, southern Thailand against illegal migrants who could be enter.

The officers regularly check ocean radar screens to spot suspicious movements in the water. Several migrants illegally cross the border in search of work but government chiefs fear it could start another coronavirus outbreak.

Myanmar has recorded 30,437 cases of the coronavirus so far with 1,123 new cases found.
