At least 20 taken hostage in Georgia bank as gunman demand ransom
A gunman demanding a $500,000 ransom has taken at least 20 people hostage in a branch of the Bank of Georgia in Zugdidi.
Footage shows the area cordoned off by police as armed units patrol the scene. Additional footage also appears to show hostages on the roof the building.
According to local media, elderly hostages have been released and several others escaped via the roof and fire escape.
